Construction Photography – 6 & 8 Parramatta Square

Architectural Photography & Video

Client: Active Metal

The architectural stairs by Active Metal within the all-new 6&8 Parramatta Square office’s underscores the importance of creative stair design in an interconnected workspace.

Property NSW is a statutory body of the Government of New South Wales that is tasked with ensuring the numerous government bodies and entities are provided with premises that fit with the long term plans of the Government and its agencies. Securing a long term occupancy that will consolidate 11 existing locations into a single location in 6 & 8 Parramatta Square, PNSW engaged Woods Bagot to design an efficient, dynamic, flexible workplace that will provide an inspiring contemporary work environment enabling employees to deliver quality services for NSW. The fit out will be collaborative and consistent to facilitate agency consolidation, spatial flexibility, reduction in office footprint by 19%, and the realization of financial benefits for the state.

Supporting the collaborative intent of the client and designers are the 16 inter-tenancy stairs, designed, fabricated and installed by Active Meal. With a mixture of switch back stairs and straight flights depending upon the location, the stand-out visual design feature is the vertical timber picket balustrade. Expertly milled from select grade Australian Hardwood, these pickets create an aura of warmth and simplicity that is both unique, and cost effective.

A state-of-the-art workplace and an environmental-intelligent integrated fitout.
