Office fitout photography and video production – staircase install
Consolidating multiple Melbourne offices to one in 80 Collins St, Herbert Smith Freehills engaged Bates Smart to design to construct its new office spanning over 10,262 square meters. The new premises have been designed to meet the evolving needs of the firm’s agile workforce. Aiming to empower people to choose a working environment where they can perform at their best and in the way that best suits them, whilst delivering a consistently excellent client experience. The office design integrates physical, cognitive, and social well-being considerations, encouraging high performance while supporting mental resilience.
A sculptural architectural staircase created by Active Metal Pty Ltd beautifully connects 5 floors. The structural staircase is fabricated from mild steel, integrated with steel balustrade plates and handrails systems. The subtle ocean wave colour is beautifully lit by the integrated handrail lighting. In addition, the steel plate staircase is encased with void glass balustrades and full height glazing, creating a dramatic visual connection and void view both looking up and looking down.
