Project: Chadstone Place & Officeworks Head Office
Relocating its headquarters to the growing Chadstone mixed-use precinct, Officeworks Chadstone was a project-first for Pixel Collective, with our engagement commencing at the pre-build stage right through to project completion. A case study in sustainability, the project is anticipated to be the first certified International Living Future Institute (ILFI) Zero Carbon certified building in Australia, a program which aims to transition to a fully decarbonised built environment. The building operates entirely on 100% renewable energy, and is powered by a 440kW solar array near Chadstone Place and a 1540kW array on carpark A.
Internally, the transformation is the result of considered and meaningful interventions; mixed-mode zones allow for workplace flexibility, and the stacked design gives each floor a distinct purpose, encouraging occupants to move about the entirety of the 8,100m2 floor plate. An innovation hub bridges the space between the staff carpark and main office, featuring an outdoor terrace, staff kitchen and multi-purpose internal space.
Two large voids link showcase levels 1 and 2, emphasising these client facing areas, and are connected by a spiral staircase finished in engineered oak cladding. A striking radial detail on the mid-landing, and the integrated LED strip lighting showcase the attention to detail in the design of this fit out.
Pixel Collective provided long-term timelapse, photography and video services for this project.
