Project: 555 Collins St, Melbourne

The new 160-metre tower at 555 Collins Street is an incredible project in Melbourne’s mid-town, combining office and retail premises. The architects have created an activated ground-level experience, aimed at providing new urban connections within Melbourne’s central business district.

The building’s design revolves around its interior spaces, offering a connected and engaging people-focused workplace. Occupant comfort and wellness is prioritised, and the project aims to anticipate the needs of Melbourne’s future workforce. Atriums within the towers’ lower levels promote collaboration, social interaction, and activity, while a connection to daylight and views is optimised on all floors and is intended to lift the human spirit.
Targeting a 6-Star Green Star, 5-Star NABERS Energy, and Platinum WELL certification, structural engineers also took proactive measures to minimise greenhouse gas emissions. By using grid optimisation and low carbon concrete, the overall environmental impact of 555 Collins has been significantly reduced.
